Work, or the meaning about what we look for.

By Brian Vannacci and Gabriela Merce

In this project, our volunteers Brian and Gabriela investigate the meaning of work, in today's culture. They interview themselves, as well as diverse people from Italy, and other countries. Some of them have a job, some of them give a job place to others, some others are looking forward to change their job. All of them are looking for something, what is it?

This is Brian.

Young people are looking for jobs that will allow them to express themselves. Many cannot find jobs in the fields they study for. Even more often they remain jobless, dreaming of a profession that is cinematically portrayed on social media. Is there a way to tell the behind-the-scenes story to young people, shedding light on the discomfort that comes from not finding the job you dreamed of? Is the job you dreamed of really the one that would make you happy? Conversations with people from different worlds and experiences, with young people suffering from this problem. Is it possible to work to build something that stays, and that makes us feel like we belong?

Sometimes, I feel anxious about a new assignment, a new job position. I guess I should work more on myself not to feel this pressure.
