LONG DISTANCE BEST- FRIENDSHIP; MY JOURNEY WITH OMERAAM.

In this picture you can see me and my fried Omeraam when we were younger. Friendship is the sunshine of my life, the quiet radiance that makes my life not only livable but worth living. In my own life, friendship with Omeraam has been the lifeline for my darkest hours of despair, the magnifying lens for my brightest joys, the quiet pulse- beat beneath the daily task of living. Through laughter and tears, in moments we share, in the tapestry of life that we mend.
Our Best Friendship not without its own challenges has stood the test of time but dealing with long distance has been the most Herculian task.
What do I consider the perks of Long Distance Bestfriendship?
OSARIEMEN: Our conflicts have become very minimal and solving these conflicts are quicker because we have no time to keep malice. I meannnnnnnn! It’s already bad enough that we can’t see other at will, why spend the time we have together bickering??? You get it yeah??
OMERAAM: Communication has improved greatly because that’s all we have. There’s nothing we can’t talk through at this point , absolutely nothing!!
OSARIEMEN : As much as I don’t want to say this, being in a long distance relationship with my best friend has made me appreciate my friend a lot more, distance they say makes the heart grow fonder remember??
OMERAAM: Most importantly greater trust and commitment have been developed and more intentionality towards making the friendship work. This is not the easiest thing but we do the work😁 As much as these perks exist, the downsides are so jarring and usually the most painful part to deal with.
OSARIEMEN: Let’s talk about how the loneliness of being miles apart from your favorite person tops the list of downsides. Not having them by your side in your best moments is the loneliest thing ever. Technology makes it better though but it’s still not the sameeeeeee.
OMERAAM: Having to schedule everything could also be very daunting. The spontaneity we enjoyed when we were in the same location is gone☹️
OSARIEMEN: Also, there’s miscommunications and wrong interpretation of emotions and body language. Urgh!!this is a whole lot. The never ending explanations and clearing the air about texts??
OMERAAM: Tell me something more stressful 😥
OSARIEMEN: The days and weeks without contact?? Busy schedules can make us go hours, days and sometimes weeks without communication. Now, you know what that means? We get to miss out on some major things going on in our lives. Annoying Right?? Wait until I tell you about the struggle to fit in every detail of our lives into a single conversation.
